Novel Submissions

Novel submissions are open for the 2028 publication window.

General requirements:

The writing has to be stylistically sure-footed, vivid, engaging, and (within the creative envelope) grammatical. If a Heresy Press editor stumbles repeatedly over stylistic or grammatical blunders on the first few pages, the work will be rejected without further reading.

The kind of fiction that does well at Heresy Press is timely, offbeat, provocative, irreverent, non-conformist, brilliantly written and smart.

If AI was used in any part of the writing process, a clear declaration to this effect is required.

Time-frame:

We will take 6-8 months to decide whether to adopt a project or not. If you can’t wait that long, it’s best to submit your work elsewhere.

If we accept a project, it will be published in 2028. Again, if this is too far off, don’t submit your project to us.
